Export News | Updates from ECA

The Export Council of Australia (ECA) has had a number of exciting new developments, including the launch of their accredited program the Advanced Diploma of International Business Management and the 21st Edition of the Australian Export Handbook. Whether you are competing with the world’s best to win international contracts or facing increasing global competition at home, it is critical for business leaders to understand the skills and competencies needed to go global.

ECA also recently launched their accredited program in partnership with the Centre for Customs and Excise Studies, Charles Sturt University. You can find more details and the course prospectus HERE.

As an example, the Getting the Documentation Right course can be taken as an accredited module of the Advanced Diploma of International Business Management, if you select the option when making the booking.

Also recently launched is the 21st Edition of the Australian Export Handbook, a valuable resource for industry members.

Since the publication of the last edition, the world of international business has changed significantly, with:

  • The implementation of three new Free Trade Agreements (Japan, Korea and China)
  • The announcement of the Trans Pacific Partnership
  • The pilot of a new Trusted Trader Program to streamline customs procedures
  • The announcement of changes to the Known Consignor Scheme and how this impacts on air freight into the US

ECA also have a range of export and import courses happening across Australia in June and July. In their 50 plus years of training through the Australian Institute of Export, ECA has worked with a number of companies big and small to help answer the tough questions. Head to their course calendar for details.
