Opportunity | Jobs Victoria Employment Network

The Victorian Government’s Jobs Victoria initiative provides a great opportunity for you to link with jobseekers and access support that will help transition new employees into your business.

Finding the right employee for your business can make a world of difference. For the Fashion & Textile sectors this is a key issue that arises when discussing local capabilities and succession planning, with challenges including an ageing skilled workforce and lack of technical/specialised skill sets.

A promising development from the Victorian Government, by way of JVEN, holds potential to cater to this growing challenge for Victorian TCF businesses and strengthen local capability.

Detailed below, the JVEN program assesses your business' employee needs, matches jobseekers to these factors and then tailors a funded training program to transition them into your business.

If you are looking to invest in the development of new staff and long term value of your business - then this could be just what you need.

What is the Jobs Victoria Employment Network  (JVEN)?

JVEN is a key initiative of the newly established Jobs Victoria that will consolidate all Victorian  employment services into one system.

Under JVEN, the Victorian Government is funding 38 employment and training specialists across metro and regional Victoria to support jobseekers. The specialists will work with JVEN participants in a way that is tailored to the needs of industry and individual businesses.

How will JVEN assist employers?

The JVEN specialists will:

  • Work with you to identify key factors that will help JVEN participants secure and maintain a role with your business
  • Create an individual plan for JVEN participants, tailored according to your needs
  • Provide employment preparation, vocational training and post-employment support to your JVEN employee at no cost to your business.
