CTF & FEN 2017 PRESENT...
Meet some of the CTF Members that you'll find at FEN 2017 this coming August! The collaboration between CTF and FEN has seen us handpick a selection of labels from across the country to showcase their work at Fashion Exposed Now, Australia's largest fashion trade event!
Established in 2012 by Lis Harvey, NICO celebrates the sartorial philosophy of minimalism and understated luxury. NICO brings high quality basics and underwear to the Australian fashion landscape featuring clean lines, luxe fabrics and the styles and colours needed for the everyday. Form and function coexist with pieces that not only look beautiful, but feel beautiful to wear too.
At the core of everything we do at NICO is a strong respect for the people we work with, and the environment we work within. As the first underwear brand to achieve accreditation with Ethical Clothing Australia, NICO is committed to upholding and cultivating ethical and sustainable transparency in the fashion industry.
THE GENTLY UNFURLING SNEAK
The Gently Unfurling Sneak is a tiny little design company that likes injecting stories into whatever they make. Designer Anika and her team creates strange and wonderful illustrations and then apply them to womens and mens clothing, fine art prints, greeting cards and a smattering of homewares.
Anika's background in fine arts and collage comes through in the label's intricate prints, which are created using a combination of drawing and collage. They shun some of the fashion industry's unsustainable practices - sizes go up to 16 and most items are transeasonal.
The team make whatever they can in their North Melbourne studio, and outsource whatever they can't to ethical makers. They believe in paying people properly for their work and creating safe and enjoyable work places. And cake in the studio. That's very important.
Who said style has to end at dusk? Tatyana Design provide alluring, opulent and comfortable nightwear, combining old world artistry with new world style. Tatyana Anderson designs the label for confident, elegant women who are self-assured in their seductive nature.
"We provide the owner with an experience and understanding that splendour can be for their eyes only. We like to think about Tatyana pieces providing sensuality and art in every nightgown and every robe."
All pieces are hand-made by an international team of skilled craftspeople with the finest of materials. Premium quality silk from China, delicate laces from France and Japan and soft cotton with beautiful drape from Japan and Australia. Tatyana Design work with artisans from Australia, Canada, Russia and Ukraine, drawing on amazing skills and artistry to create opulent nightwear.
Timeless, bespoke, classic. Introducing iolé lingerie – a brand new boutique lingerie label, creating made-to-order intimate pieces in Melbourne.
With lashings of delicate French lace and classic silhouettes that never go out of style, you’d be forgiven for thinking the iolé lingerie range was crafted and shipped from the ateliers of France. But every piece in the collection is made on Australian soil in the heart of Melbourne, from a dedicated lingerie workshop that puts quality and ethical concerns at the forefront, accredited by Ethical Clothing Australia.
Each piece, whether it’s a bra, a bodysuit or a pair of briefs, is incredibly detailed, from the intricate lace and embroidery to the signature copper rings and slides. The team are also so confident about their premium garments, they offer lifetime sewing repairs on all pieces – truly living up to the idea that luxury lingerie should last for years, not just a seasonal fashion cycle.
Set apart from the crowd in quality, style and a unique structure for responsiveness, makes iole lingerie a truly boutique and luxury lingerie brand.
Understated and timeless, each piece is designed to adapt to an ever-changing lifestyle. Each piece is made in Melbourne by jewellery designer Kari Layton using high quality metals and stones.
LOTT Studio began as a personal project that started in Berlin, Germany. After a few years studying jewellery design and selling at local boutiques and friends in Berlin, Kari returned to Melbourne where LOTT Studio is now based.
Lott Studio is for the elegantly understated and made to be worn everyday. Simplicity, androgyny, form and function are the key elements Kari considers when designing each piece.
Stay tuned as we continue to profile some of the amazing CTF Members that will be taking part in FEN 2017, and be sure to stop by for yourself this August!
