International Sourcing Expo 2018 | A Recap

International Sourcing Expo 2018

A Recap

Now firmly entrenched on the Australian apparel and fashion sourcing calendar, the 9th edition of the event, co-located with Footwear and Leather Show 3rd edition and China Clothing Textiles Accessories Expo 18th edition, attracted major brands and buyers from across Australia and New Zealand, and the broader region. Thanks to the AFC members who joined us!

This year the AFC hosted the largest stand to date at the International Sourcing Expo in Melbourne. Members who were able to take advantage of this opportunity to promote their products and services were Sample Room, Direct to Source, Ethical Sourcing Agency, NMBQ, The New Garde, Buying Intelligence, Bruck, APN Performance Testing and UL Australia. We also saw fellow members Fashion Equipped and Manufacture My Product hosting their own stands this year!

In addition to the 600+ exhibitors, the three days were jam packed with seminars, workshops and this year, for the first time ever, global runway shows featuring designers from China, Australia and Indonesia.

It’s at events like these that you never know who you’re going to meet or what ideas you’re going to come across. There were a lot of new relationships formed and great ideas discussed for the future of our industry.

It was a great experience as members of the AFC to be part of the Australian Fashion Council at the International Sourcing Expo in Melbourne. With Direct to Source and Eco-Tote we connected with like minded people interested in doing good for the planet while looking at eco solutions for the retail shopping bag in sustainable fabrics that are the future for ethical production going forward. - Lisa Van Den Bogaert, Direct to Source

This was the first year UL have been part of the International Sourcing Expo. I had a great experience meeting so many Australian business owners, retailers and designers who have come to meet potential suppliers. From the feedback I got, many were successful. I was fortunate to answer so many questions about standards, audits and inspection to help them in their business to empower trust in their supply chain. We would love to be part of it in the years to come. - Germine Gavazov, UL Australia
