David Jones Publish Interactive Factory List

In line with this year’s Fashion Revolution week, AFC Members David Jones have set the bar high for department stores both local and global. With a campaign sharing the stories of some amazing local Australian labels, the team at David Jones took transparency one step further, publishing an interactive map releasing the locations and details of their Tier One factory list, the suppliers worldwide responsible for the manufacturing of David Jones products.

In line with this year’s Fashion Revolution week, AFC Members David Jones have set the bar high for department stores both local and global. With a campaign sharing the stories of some amazing local Australian labels, the team at David Jones took transparency one step further, publishing an interactive map releasing the locations and details of their Tier One factory list, the suppliers worldwide responsible for the manufacturing of David Jones products.

PUTTING THEIR FACTORIES ON THE MAP

The industry-leading online map allows customers to identify factory locations, the types of products they manufacture and see the demography of staff employed at each site.

At present, the map currently features 70% of David Jones private label factories to date, the first step towards full transparency and the future publication of 100% of David Jones’ supplier partners.

TELLING THE STORIES OF AUSTRALIA’S LABELS…

The David Jones 2019 Fashion Revolution Week campaign highlighted eight key David Jones brands making a positive social and environmental impact on the industry: Manning Cartell, Bianca Spender, Nobody Denim, Viktoria & Woods, Veronika Maine, Kitx, Outland Denim, and Bassike.

The consumer focused initiative marking the Rana Plaza factory collapse in 2013, highlighted the concept of ‘mindfully made’, putting a spotlight on the makers behind the labels.

A GOOD BUSINESS JOURNEY…

Since 2015, David Jones have been on a journey to become one of the most responsible retailers in the world. From personal, long-lasting relationships with suppliers and workers to best practice, environmentally-friendly production methods, this Fashion Revolution David Jones were pleased to celebrate the efforts taken, and to share some of the stories about where their products come from.
