Amilani Perera has become a powerful advocate for women suffering from violence, an issue that deeply resonates with founder Amilani Perera. Through a partnership with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), the brand actively works to empower and uplift women who have faced abuse in Sri Lanka. This partnership involves engaging survivors of violence in the product development process, as well as offering mentoring programs designed to enhance their skills in fashion design.
Renowned for its bespoke, designer womenswear, Amilani Perera has consistently showcased at Colombo Fashion Week since 2013. In 2024, the brand furthered its international reach by partnering with the United Nations Asia Pacific to present at the Ultra Luxe Fashion Show in Singapore. Amilani Perera was also the only Sri Lankan brand featured at Asian Designer Week 2016 in New Delhi, India, and showcased its Spring/Summer 2017 collection at the USA-Sri Lanka Fashion Week in New York.
Additionally, Amilani Perera serves as the official designer for the Airport & Aviation Services of Sri Lanka, further cementing her influence in the fashion industry.
A graduate of Lasalle College of the Arts in Singapore, Amilani has extensive experience in the global fashion and garment industry. She has worked as a designer with prominent global manufacturers such as MAS Holdings for the amanté lingerie brand, and as a design consultant for Arvind Lifestyle Brands in Bangalore, India.
