I have been working as a freelancing fashion designer in Melbourne since 2019 while continuing my study at RMIT university. Before choosing to be a freelancer in Melbourne, I had 11 years of working experience in the fashion manufacturing industry in mainland China, from fashion technician designer to a small garment factory owner. My main work field at the moment is apparel patterning & grading, CAD sketching, tech pack development, and sampling, as well as servicing as a manufacturing agent focusing on small MOQ orders for local brands. Our subsidiary, Avodah Manufacturing (Cambodia) works with Cambodian social justice and rescue agencies who rescue women from trafficking and exploitation and provide counselling, education and health support. When these women are ready to be reintegrated into the community and take on full time employment, they require training and a nurturing, supportive work environment.
