Learn & Create: Breathe Life into a new garment using UpCycling techniques

Saturday 14th March | 10am-5pm

Do you have an old garment that is taking up space in your wardrobe? Do you love visiting vintage markets and hunting out unique clothing finds? Join The Masters Institute of Creative Education for a single-day workshop and turn an abandoned item into a shiny new treasure!

This event is part of Melbourne Design Week 2020, an initiative by Creative Victoria in partnership with NGV.

Thursday Evenings | 5th-26th March | 6pm-9pm

This dynamic 4-week course has been developed to support fashion business owners. This fashion business course will answer all your questions and give you a clear idea of what you need to be thinking about, and the preparation and planning involved in making your business successful.

The Rise of Sustainable Leather: Create Your Own Vegan Leather Satchel

Saturday 4th April | 10am-5pm

Join our 1-day 'Learn & Create' workshop on the rise of sustainable leather and create your very own vegan leather satchel. Learn the history of leather production, and the damage worldwide consumption of leather has on the environment, before exploring the amazing opportunities new fabrication technologies hold for the industry and the sustainable brands out there you need to know now.

This will follow with a hands-on practical session where you will create your own sustainable leather satchel in our design studio.

Introduction to Fashion Styling

Thursday Evenings | 22nd March-1st July | 6pm-9pm

If you are an aspiring stylist and would like to build up your technique and sharpen your skills, this course is for you! This course introduces the role of a stylist and the different areas a stylist can be involved in, including main fashion and flatlay photo shoots for fashion & homewares, coordinating fashion shows, wardrobe styling for television or film and personal wardrobe styling.You will participate in practical hands-on activities including working with mood boards and organising a photoshoot.

The Masters Certificate in Fashion Business Analysis

Tuesday Evenings | 24th March-9th June | 6pm-9pm

Want to work in the fashion industry but haven't formally studied fashion? Interested in launching your own line or product range? This course is for you.

You will take a brief look at the key players in the industry, their role & function. You'll also examine how trends develop, manufacturing options, fashion marketing, and e-tailing, all reinforced with practical case studies and examples within the fashion and retail industry.
