Fashion X Technology with Havas | Event Recap

Last month The Australian Fashion Council partnered with Havas and Oracle to continue an event series designed to bring our industry fresh insights, while also connecting industry members for the exchange of new ideas at the intersection of fashion and technology.

Digital Strategy 101 was the first topic of a three-part series organised in collaboration with Havas and Oracle.

Thanks to everyone who joined us!

The event was hosted by Havas, a technology business covering performance media, site development, CRO, CRM and loyalty and all the technology that supports these disciplines, and Oracle, another technology business that embeds innovative technologies in every aspect of our cloud, enabling companies to reimagine their businesses, processes, and experiences. Together with the AFC, they offered attendees bespoke, tailored thinking and practical tips on where to begin with refreshing your digital strategy, curating the perfect digital collection and how to make a small digital budget fit for your fashion business.

We heard from Rogan Gilhespie, CDO for Havas Helia who in his 21 years’ experience in building digital teams for agencies, has delivered projects that drove data innovation, with a business focus and excellent results for brands. His approach has won a Media Week Gold Award, a Data Strategy Gold, plus Gold wins for Data Innovation from The Global Festival of Media, The Digitals and the Cristal Festival.

We also heard from Daniel Harrison, General Manager, Customer Experience - Oracle Digital who is responsible for the Oracle Digital CX business for Australia and New Zealand with a view to help organisations improve their customer experience across Sales, Service and Marketing. With over 20 years’ experience in the industry Dan has been responsible for driving sales strategy into various vertical businesses including Retail.

AFC Fashion X Technology Social Event Series

“Digital” is one of the top 3 words to describe the fashion industry in 2019 according to the most recent BoF-McKinsey State of Fashion survey. There is an importance and need for the Australian fashion industry to embrace technology which can be both exciting and challenging at the same time.

The Fashion X Technology series put on by the AFC is an effort to offer members and the wider industry, extending into technology, the opportunity to connect. The goal is to facilitate the exchange of ideas and to foster new relationships, encouraging greater collaboration across multiple industries.
