AFC UPDATE
The Australian Fashion Council (AFC) is delighted to announce the appointment of Leila Naja Hibri as its CEO Elect effective February 2020.
AFC Co-Chairs Edwina McCann and John Condilis said Naja Hibri was chosen because of her excellent track record in business, her passion for learning and mentoring and the leadership she has demonstrated in the industry.
Naja Hibri, who until recently, was the General Manager at Australian fashion accessories label Helen Kaminski and a Member of the Board of Directors of HKJC - a Tokyo based joint venture company with Yagi Tsusho Limited, has a background in Economics and Accounting and over 15 years’ experience in luxury and premium brand management and development across APAC, Europe and North America. She has worked with organizations such as Arthur Anderson, The United Nations, Prada and Luxottica and led teams in Sydney, Auckland, London, New York, Hong Kong and Tokyo.
Naja Hibri has been actively involved with the AFC since its inception and was invited to join its Board of Directors in 2018.
Join Dave Giles-Kaye in conversation with Leila Naja Hibri at our upcoming AFC Industry Session in Melbourne on the evening of Tuesday 12th November.
Leading Australian fashion designers and key industry figures have rallied in support of an industry-led Australian Fashion Week (AFW), following the announcement that IMG will no longer manage the event.
The AGM is an opportunity to give our members a report on the AFC's activities and finances for the previous year and to allow time for members to ask questions.
The AFC recommends immediate funding to undertake a nationwide review of current, emerging and future TCF manufacturing occupations and match occupations to the ABS ANZSCO codes.
