With a campaign sharing the stories of some amazing local Australian labels, the team at David Jones took transparency one step further, publishing an interactive map releasing the locations and details of their Tier One factory list, the suppliers worldwide responsible for the manufacturing of David Jones products.
The industry-leading online map allows customers to identify factory locations, the types of products they manufacture and see the demography of staff employed at each site.
At present, the map currently features 70% of David Jones private label factories to date, the first step towards full transparency and the future publication of 100% of David Jones’ supplier partners.
The David Jones 2019 Fashion Revolution Week campaign highlighted eight key David Jones brands making a positive social and environmental impact on the industry: Manning Cartell, Bianca Spender, Nobody Denim, Viktoria & Woods, Veronika Maine, Kitx, Outland Denim, and Bassike.
The consumer focused initiative marking the Rana Plaza factory collapse in 2013, highlighted the concept of ‘mindfully made’, putting a spotlight on the makers behind the labels.
