ILIO NEMA was founded by Ariane Leondaridis and Katia Kelso, whose shared Greek heritage and passion for artisanal craft brought them together while working collaboratively in New York as Design Director and Production Director respectively.

The label was born from a shared commitment to slow craft and traditional techniques, offering an alternative to the fast and disposable nature of contemporary fashion. ILIO NEMA travels the world to discover and celebrate artisanal traditions, working with communities who have preserved their skills and cultural practices across generations.

Every garment reflects a considered approach to sourcing and production, with craftsmanship and the human hand at the centre of the design process. The founders’ philosophy is rooted in creating timeless pieces that can be nurtured, mended and loved as heirlooms for generations.
