The Australian Fashion Council (AFC) invites you to join us for the discussion on what makes a brand Australian.
Facilitated by David Giles-Kaye, AFC's previous CEO, currently working with Darwin Aboriginal Art Fair Foundation, the discussion will delve into the movements in the current local fashion landscape, pinpointing some of the iconic elements of Australian design DNA, and identifying what it is that sets Australian fashion apart globally.
Providing industry insight, Jade Sarita Arnott - founder of Arnsdorf and Lois Hazel - founder of Lois Hazel will be shedding some light on the opportunities for emerging Australian designers and what it takes to build a truly authentic brand in today’s world.
We will then open the floor to the audience for some Q&A. The panel will be followed by networking drinks and the opportunity to meet with the panellists and have a look through a curated collection of Australian fashion labels from across the country as part of AFC Curated. A unique opportunity to get behind local businesses, meet the designers in person and shop their incredible ranges.
AFC Curated is a pop-up retail space and broader business development program built to support Australia’s emerging and independent fashion labels.
This event is brought to you by the Australian Fashion Council and presented by Vicinity Centres, and proudly promoted by Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival as part of the Independent Program.
