Born from a fascination with Trompe l’eoil – tricks and deceptions of the eye — Briar Will uses this technique as a sustainable approach to garment creation, transforming excess and reimagining the discarded. Sourced garments are scanned in sections, digitising and recontextualising their tactile qualities. These segments are then layered and pieced together like a jigsaw over new silhouettes. The final patterns are sublimation printed onto high-quality, durable performance fabrics. Every Briar Will piece is consciously printed and constructed in Naarm/Melbourne, using fabrics dyed and made in Australia or Japan.
