Mia Lovelock is an interdisciplinary artist and Art Wear designer whose practice merges sustainable fashion, visual art, and First Nations storytelling. Drawing from her Yuin heritage and upbringing in Arnhem Land and Papua New Guinea, she creates one-of-a-kind garments using natural and recycled fabrics, hand-painted with pigments made from hand-ground rocks collected from Country.

Her work sits between contemporary fashion and fine art, embracing slow fashion principles and transforming garments into living canvases that carry culture, memory, and connection. Mia’s Art Wear has been showcased at the Sydney Wearable Art Gala, Sydney Fringe Festival, the Downing Centre NAIDOC Week Exhibition, and the Liverpool Powerhouse, where she received the Aboriginal Scholarship Award through the 33rd Annual Mil-Pra AECG Art Prize.

Through her work, Mia celebrates sustainability, cultural storytelling, and the strength of First Nations women in the arts.
