We use couture sewing methods such as French seams and bound edges –
heirloom quality methods that have been long lost in modern mass-manufacturing. Only
premium luxury natural fibres have been used – for their environmental as well as health
benefits.

Each garment is handcrafted in Australia by manufacturers who are members of the Ethical Clothing Association. All of our suppliers are also based in Australia.

The brand was founded by former fashion and beauty editor Susan Schwartz, who left the
magazine and newspaper world to study fashion.

The brand is a fusion of East meets West – a reflection of Susan’s Eurasian roots. Quan is
Susan’s maternal family name and evokes a sense of exotic tradition – a connection to an
ancient world of secrets and mystery.
